Mets don't want Manny

Adam Rubin at The NY Daily News, writes about Omar Minaya, Theo Epstein and the Manny Ramirez situation:

Omar Minaya has flirted with the idea of getting Manny Ramirez from the Red Sox ever since he became Mets general manager two years ago. But Boston counterpart Theo Epstein hasn't even phoned Minaya this time - perhaps aware that the temperamental slugger would only approve a trade that would get him out of the spotlight of the Northeast.

For his part, Minaya yesterday ruled out making a run at Ramirez.

"I don't like commenting on players on other clubs, but I've been down that road," Minaya said. "We're very happy with Moises (Alou) in left field."
