Don't be surprised for the Mets to try for Wells

Nick Cafardo at Boston.com, writes about David Wells and the Mets:

Giants manager Bruce Bochy gave David Wells a call right before the team signed Zito to let him know they were still interested in him. Wells, who said he definitely will pitch in '07, has also drawn interest from Philadelphia, San Diego, and Arizona. Don't be surprised if the Mets kick the tires.

I'd give the idea of this signing a big thumbs down. I mean, come on, David Wells? This would be the complete opisite direction the Mets should be headed in.
