Full team still available

Matthew Cerrone at Mets Blog, writes about the free agents still available and one name sticks out to him as well as me:

The following players are still available on the free-agent market, and could make up an entire starting staff...

1B - Phil Nevin
2B - Ronnie Belliard
SS - Jose Vizcaino
3B - Joe Randa
OF - Preston Wilson
OF - Darin Erstad
OF - Cliff Floyd
C - Sandy Alomar Jr.

Tony Armas, Ramon Ortiz, Tomo Ohka, Jeff Weaver and Steve Trachsel on the mound, with Eddie Guardado as the team’s closer.

Ronnie Belliard could be utilized as the Mets starting second baseman and what a great duo him a Reyes could make up the middle. That won't happen though as the Mets have already got Damion Easley to play back up to Valentin. The much better fit would be Valentin playing back up to Belliard. But what do I know?
