Mets could reaquire Keppinger

At the Kansas City Star, they write about the Royals having designating Jeff Keppinger:

David Riske’s one-year contract with the Royals was made official on Tuesday after being stamped by Major League Baseball and the players’ union.

With Riske officially on the active roster, the Royals designated infielder Jeff Keppinger for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster. The Royals now essentially have 10 days to trade or release him. After that, he would become a free agent.

The Royals acquired Keppinger from the Mets for Ruben Gotay last July. He hit .267 with two home runs and eight RBIs in 22 games last season.

This is it Omar! Get our boy back and let him have a crack at being a utility man for Jose Valentin.

I guess it comes as no shock that Keppinger is a personal favorite of mine, but I mean, come on. The guy did nothing wrong for the Mets or Royals to have this kind of stuff dumped on him.

Bring back Kepp!
