Mets have interest in Armas Jr., Ohka and Weaver

Ken Davidoff at Newsday, writes about the Mets interest in Tony Armas, Tomo Ohka and Jeff Weaver:

Mets general manager Omar Minaya knows both Armas and Ohka from his time as the Montreal Expos' GM. Both pitchers experienced rough 2006 seasons, which explains why they're still available.

Weaver could get a three-year deal after winning the Cardinals' World Series-clinching Game 5. The Mets are somewhat wary of Weaver because the righthander had a rough stay with the neighboring Yankees in 2002 and 2003.
