Randolph honored as NL Manager of the Year by the Negro League

Steve Popper at North Jersey, writes about Willie Randolph being honored as the National League Manager of the Year by the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum:

Willie Randolph will depart the Mets' minicamp today and fly to Kansas City to be honored as the National League Manager of the Year by the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

Randolph was frustrated by being beaten out for the National League Manager of the Year honors by Joe Girardi, but was particularly pleased to receive this honor, the Charles Isham "C.I." Taylor Award.

"This is a real honor," Randolph said. "I'm a historian of the game.
