It's the Elbows

Over the weekend at Mets Fever I posted a group of photos Steve Popper of the Bergen Record observed in Lastings Milledge's locker. Today Anthony at Hotfoot got to the bottom of the photos:

Kevin Kernan gets the scoop regarding the pictures Lastings Milledge has posted in his locker that he previously would not reveal the signifigance of.

Milledge said there was no way I would figure it out.

Once I mentioned that the back elbow in each picture was located in the same spot, moving to the same height as the ball, he gave me one of those, ''I don’t believe it'' looks, saying, “That’s pretty good. Better than I thought,’’

Kernan also describes how Milledge's father has been showing him how many great players have had a rough start out the gate, and telling him to stay focused. Milledge has also been training with an a softball-sized medicine ball which he throws against a trampoline to gain the proper throwing motion. He displayed how his training has helped him in today's intrasquad game, throwing out Fernando Martinez at third base.

I was thinking it had something to do with swing mechanics because of the odd assortment of players Milledge posted in his locker, which included Stan Musial, Gary Sheffield, Jay Buhner, Ken Griffey Jr. and Derrek Lee.
