Lo Duca still says he wants to stay past 2007

John Delcos at the Journal News, writes about Paul Lo Duca's ambition to stay withthe Mets after the 2007 season:

"I don't think there's been any dialogue," Lo Duca said. "But I would like to stay and be a part of it. I think we have a good team and can take it to the next step.

"I would like to be playing here when the new stadium opens."

Lo Duca was a significant contributor to the Mets' surge into the playoffs last season. Batting second behind Jose Reyes, he hit .318 with five homers and 49 RBI, but was especially adept at working the count, enabling the speedy shortstop to steal.
