The Hitting Streak And Wright

Ed Ryan at Mets Fever (Shea Nation Network), writes about David Wright and his hitting streak:

David Wright went 2-4 in today's game and in doing so extended his hitting streak. Some don't consider it a true streak because it's over two seasons, but it does show his ability to maintain his batting average. While Wright has had somewhat of a power outage, at least he's making contact.

Wright extended his career-best hitting streak to 23 games, dating to last season. He is the first Mets player to get a hit in each of the team's first 11 games. He also is the first major league player since 1962 to end one season with a hitting streak of 10 games or more and begin the next year with another one, according to Elias. source MSG.
