Mets And Delgado Partner Up

Delgado and the Mets announced a partnership Tuesday afternoon to support the first baseman's Extra Bases Foundation. For every dollar Delgado donates to the charity -- and he kicked it off with a $100,000 gift -- the Mets Foundation will match it. Not a bad start to Delgado's week.

"Going hand in hand with him is a great thing," Mets chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon said, joking about the good timing of Delgado's on-field success. "The home run last night didn't hurt. It was all planned."
