Mets Are Counting On Alou

Jon Cooper at Mets.com, writes about the Mets and how they're counting on Moises Alou to help them agenst Lefty Pitching:

The team hit .254 against southpaws (it hit .264 as a team), and after an 18-7 start through July 31 (a .720 winning percentage), the Mets faded, winning only seven of their final 22 games against lefties. They went only 25-22 against left-handed starters.

A career .330 hitter with a .557 slugging percentage, Alou is expected to help and help make life even more difficult for opposing lefties -- the first of whom was Atlanta's Mark Redman on Friday night.
