Sanchez and Padilla Surgery

Jon Cooper at Mets.com, writes about Duaner Sanchez, Juan Padilla and the surgery they are about to recieve:

Hard-luck reliever Duaner Sanchez is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday to repair a hairline fracture of the coracoid bone in his right shoulder.

"We have no timetable [for his return]," said assistant general manager John Ricco.

Last season, Sanchez was 5-1 with a 2.60 ERA in 49 games when he separated his shoulder in a freak taxicab accident on July 31 in Florida. He had season-ending arthroscopic shoulder surgery, but suffered another setback in Spring Training, when he felt a pop after only 11 pitches in a March 22 session.

Reliever Juan Padilla also will undergo further surgery on his right elbow.

Padilla, who missed all of the 2006 season after undergoing Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery, has continued to feel soreness in his elbow.

"The soreness has not gone away," said Ricco. "There's something there. We don't know what it is."
