Perez Loses It

Only pitching two and two thirds innings was no problem in Oliver Perez's last start. In fact seven innings was no sweat for Ollie.

For one reason or another, tonight agenst the Phillies, Oliver Perez couldn't seem to get it together. In his short appearance, Perez gave up a single to Chase Utley, four walks and then hit a batsman to drive in three runs.

This goes to show us that no matter how much promise Perez shows us, he's still a work in progress. Maybe in a year or two, he'll be the solid number two pitcher behind Mike Pelfrey. But for now, he's just a game of chance.
