Wright's Second Slump
Matthew Cerrone at Mets Blog, writes about David Wright and his latest slump:From April 30 to May 2, David Wright hit .428 in 14 at bats, with two HR, five RBI, a double and just one strike out.
Since then, Wright is hitless in last 13 at bats with no walks and three strike outs.
Interestingly, since opening day, he is hitting just .171 during 76 at-bats against the opposing team’s starting pitcher. However, in the same time span, he’s hitting .366 in 41 at-bats against relief pitchers.
Since ending his hit streak on April 20, Wright is batting .161 with four extra base hits, he’s batting .176 with runners in scoring position and is hitless in 15 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers.
Since April 20, he is hitting .176 during 34 at-bats from the fifth spot, while batting .200 during 20 at-bats hitting second.
