E-Mail Bag: Keeping Gotay

What’s the chance that the Mets keep Gotay up in the majors once Alou and Valentin come back from their visits to the DL?

I’ve been asking myself this very question for the past couple of days now. The kid is hitting too well (.316BA, 2HR, 9RBI’s) for the Mets to turn around and send him right back to the Minors.

Just about the only way I see Ruben Gotay staying up with the Mets, when Valentin comes back, would be to send Dave Newhan (.200BA, 1HR, 4RBI’s, 1SB) to Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs or to go ahead and trade him to a team for cash or a low level Minor Leaguer.

There you have it Sean, not to many options, but none are out of question.
