E-Mail Bag: A Platoon With Alou?

What are the chances of the Mets obtaining an older, still producing in limited duty, outfielder to platoon with Moises Alou when he comes back?

First of all, it’s always nice to see a woman baseball fan and a Mets fan at that.

Now, the Mets have, recently, been rumored to Jacque Jones and I still believe that they could obtain Juan Encarnacion. Both of these two guys would be greatly received at Shea, as a platoon player.

But, you have to ask yourself, that if the Mets do acquire another outfielder, what does that mean for Endy?

Probably not much, but you never know.

Right now it would be great, because they could get rid of Ledee. I can’t stand that guy.

Mets should stick with Alou, Beltran, and Green as starters and just get a MLB proven backup/platoon player like Jeff Conine or Luke Scott for the OF. I'd rather have Conine, who's numbers are very good and he's well suited to a backup IF/OF role.

They need to stay away from guys like Encanarcion and Jacque Jones, who aren't platoon-type players to begin with.

Forgot about the Ledee comment- in the Mets minors' he hit .287 with 8 homers. And when he came up he hit 2 RBI doubles. He's not special, by any means, but that'll do, especially compared to the zilich they got out of Newhan
