E-Mail Bag: Where Has Sele Gone?
Where has Aaron Sele disappeared to? Is he still with the Mets? I see he’s still on the roster, but I haven’t heard anything about him in forever.

Sele’s still around Jim.
The thing is Sele has only pitched in 12 games and 19.1 innings so far this year. He has allowed 11 runs on 26 hits in that time. Earlier in the season he was seen as the long reliever, Sele has all but disappeared, having last pitched on May 26th.
My guess is that Willie just isn’t confident enough to hand the ball over to him in tight games anymore. He’s not exactly the player the Mets were hoping for and with Mota back in the pen, expect to see even less of him.
I would bet that when another bullpen arm has to be moved back to the minors, that Sele will be right at the top of the list.
