Game Recap:: Dodgers 4 -- Mets 1

Every ball they hit gets through, and ours go right to them...

Seriously now...when the Mets hit the ball, it seems the balls attempt to find their way into other teams gloves. On the other hand, when opposing teams hit balls, they go to the most unlikely of places where even our All-Star caliber players can't make a play. The Mets dropped their 4th straight game, losing 4-1 to the Dodgers. (That's 8 of the last 9 for those of you keeping score at home.)

John Maine pitched really well, except for 3 straight pitches in the bottom of the second inning where Wilson Betemit, Matt Kemp, and the pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo tee-d off for three solo home runs. Maine gave up 7 hits while walking 2 and striking out 2 in 5.1 innings.

...3 silly mistakes, and that bat flip from Kuo was absolutely ridiculous...

Joe Smith, Scott Schoeneweis, and Aaron Heilman finished out the game, allowing 3 hits. They combined for 5 strikeouts and zero walks.

...again, good bullpen, starter (and offense) can't get it done...

David Wright extended his hitting streak to 14 games, going 2-4 and scoring the only run of the game when Carlos Delgado singled him home in the second inning.

...keep it going David!...

Game Ball:: David Wright
