Mets Gut Check
Anthony De Rosa at Mets Blog, writes about the Mets recent string of bad luck:
...well the Mets have official hit their first real rough patch of 2007, and the chicken littles are coming out in full force...i'm not telling folks to not be concerned, because i am, especially considering the schedule ahead of them this month, but i believe just as you can't get too confident when you're up, you can't get too fatalistic when you're down...that's Willie Randolph's philosophy and you can see it from the top down in the clubhouse...they know they're good, and they know they can come out of this...
...the Mets starting pitching continues to roll, and if the team was losing games due to some deficiency there, i would be far more concerned...the bullpen has been costing the mets and you have a bit more luxury for adjustments there than rolling out the same five starters every day...i have confidence that Billy Wagner and company will get their house in order, and hopefully willie will send Scott Schoeneweis on a little vacation for awhile...
