Minor League Profile: Jose Castro

The Mets drafted Jose Castro with their 32nd round selection in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft. Jose was a switch-hitting shortstop for Miami Dade Community College North, the same school that produced Mike Piazza.

Castro is batting .348, with 2 home runs, 22 RBI’s and 7 stolen bases this year for the St. Lucie Suns. He will be participating in the Minor League All Star Game this season.

Keep an eye on him, he might be making an appearance in a Mets uniform in a couple of years.
