Wagner On Team Slump

Anthony De Rosa at Mets Blog, writes about Billy Wagner and what he thinks of the losing streak:

Billy Wagner, talking to reporters after last night's game...

“I’m sure Omar didn’t put this team together expecting this type of play, Fred Wilpon, he didn’t shell out this type of money for us to go out and play like this...

"When we come to Yankee Stadium, we better be ready to go, because the Yankees aren't going to feel sorry for us. Every other team is embarrassing us. They're going to be trying to embarrass us some more...

"We've caused a lot of our own problems. I mean, they played outstanding baseball, but we made them look better with our sloppy play and our lackadaisical efforts. I don't think it's got anything to do with confidence. It's just about focus and desire. I mean, you've got to want it more than everybody else wants it."
