I am glad Jose Reyes, David Wright, Carlos Beltran, and Billy Wagner got elected to the all star game but I am outraged that John Maine was not. Cole Hamels of the Phillies has a 9-4 record with an ERA of 3.87 while John Maine has a 9-4 record with an ERA of 2.74. How is it possible that Hamels made it to the all star team but Maine who is pitching better this season then Hammels did not make it. In my opinion it is because Cole Hamels is hyped up as being this young stud with nasty stuff. But really he is not worthy of being in the all star game. Something needs to be done about players who are having great years but are being robbed of making the all star team. John Maine should be an All Star! (Mets Prospects)
