Game Recap:: Mets 13 -- Dodgers 9

What a crazy game...

The Mets broke out the bats in a big way, scoring 6 runs in the first inning en route to a 13-9 win. Tom Glavine was pretty awful, only lasting 2 innings, and surrendering 10 hits. 6 earned runs were charged to him, while he walked 1 and struck out zero.

...wow...
...between his and Derek Lowe, they game up 20 hits and 14 earned runs in 5 innings...
...think it was nerves for Tommy? getting close to that number 300...

Aaron Sele had a pretty good night, earning the win with 3 innings of 2 hit ball. He allowed one inherited runner to score, and another unearned run. Sele had his pitches working last night, as he made a lot of people look silly at the plate. He struck out 1 batter, and gave a free pass to 2.

...in one of his rare appearances, he really pitched well...
...good to see...

Aaron Heilman and Guillermo Mota combined to finish out the game, each pitching 2 innings each. Heilman allowed 3 hits and 1 earned run, while striking out 2 and walking no one. Mota allowed 4 hits and only 1 earned run.

...crazy game...so many runs!...

Now to the multitude of offense...
Jose Reyes went 2-5, scoring a run, and knocking in 2 RBI.
Newcomer Marlon Anderson joined the team in a nice way, also going 2-5 with 2 RBI's and a run scored.

...nice to see him contributing right from the crack of the bat...

Carlos Beltran was also 2-5, knocking in his RBI with a solo shot in the 8th inning.
David Wright picked up his 2 RBI with a ground rule double in the first inning.
Delgado had one hit, a solo home run in the top of the 6th, which was followed by a Ramon Castro home run. Castro went 2-5, scoring 2 runs and knocking 2 more in.

...can we credit this to HoJo, or bad pitching?...or both?...

Shawn Green also went 2-5, scoring 2 runs.
And Ruben Gotay went 3-4, scoring 2 runs and picking up 1 RBI.

...whew! so much to write!!...

Game Ball:: Every field player! And Aaron Sele!
