Game Recap:: Phillies 4 -- Mets 2

The Phillies DID NOT deserve to win that...

The Phillies tied up the game with a dribbler that bounced off the foul line up along the third base line, and stayed fair to allow Shane Victorino to score. Ryan Howard put the game away, hitting a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 10th to win it 4-2 for the Phillies.

Tommy Glavine threw 7 shutout innings, which all went for naught. Glavine scattered 8 hits and walked no one in one of his best outings of the year. Glavine struck out one batter.

...here is another game Glav more than earned, and was eventually denied by the Mets bullpen...

Pedro Feliciano pitched 2/3 of an inning, allowing a home run to Jimmy Rollins, and issued a walk to Pat Burrell. Shane Victorino pinch ran for Burrell, and eventually scored on the luckiest hit ever, up along first, which was only held fair by the chalk of the foul line.

Guillermo Mota pitched one inning, allowing the bomb to left field by Ryan Howard to end the game. He allowed 2 hits and 2 earned runs to score.

...so good one night...so bad the next...

Moises Alou went 2-2 with 2 walks tonight. Alou scored one run.
Carlos Deglado went 2-4, driving in the Mets only runs with a 2nd inning 2-run home run to deeeeeeeep right field.

...flashes of brilliance...

Tom Glavine also picked up 2 hits, going 2-3 on the night.

Game Ball:: Tom Glavine...he deserved this. Poor guy.
