Game Recap:: Pirates 10 -- Mets 7

This was just an ABSOLUTE implosion by the Mets bullpen. They lost 10-7 to the lowly Pirates. Only 6 of the runs were earned, while the other 4 came after 2 seperate errors in the bottom of the 8th inning, one by Mike DiFelice and one by David Wright.

Brian Lawrence went 5 innings, giving up 4 earned runs on 4 hits. He walked 4 batters and struck out 3.

...another OK start...in line to get the win...but the bullpen must hate him or something, as they blew his lead and chance for a win for the second straight start...

Some highlights...all offensive...

Jose Reyes went 2-4 with 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and knocked in one RBI.

Luis Castillo drove in 2 runs and went 2-6 on the night.

Carlos Beltran went 3-5, with a single, double, and a home run, driving in 2 RBI.

Brian Lawrence helped his own cause, as he went 2-3 with a run and 2 RBI.

...just not enough offensive power to make up for the AWFUL pitching...
