Reyes Steals Mets Stolen Base Title

Marty Noble at Mets.com writes about Jose Reyes and how he stole his 67th base to take the Mets title:

Jose Reyes established a franchise record for stolen bases in a season on Wednesday night, when he stole third base on the front end of a double steal in the fifth inning of the Mets' 7-5 loss to the Padres.

The Mets shortstop, who's led the league in steals with 64 and 60 in the two previous seasons, stole three bases to surpass the club record established in 1999 by Roger Cedeno.

Cedeno's 66th steal came in the Mets' 160th game, his 152nd game and in his 83rd attempt. Reyes' 65th, 66th and 67th came in his and the Mets' 125th game. His 67th swipe came in his 82nd attempt.
