We Run Here

By Ed Ryan at Mets Fever (Network Member):

Luis Castillo showed why he was an excellent acquisition prior to the trade deadline. With Castillo batting second it's like having two lead-off men in the line-up. NY is quickly becoming the fastest team in the league with at least five base stealing threats in the everyday line-up; Reyes, Castillo, Wright, Beltran (when healthy) and Milledge and two more that are willing to try; Alou and Green. The bench has Anderson and Gotay with Easley willing to try. Additionally soon Carlos Gomez will be returning to add even more speed to the team.

So it's understandable after his first night of truly becoming part of the offense Castillo would need assistance in leaving the dugout. When I initially saw him being helped into the tunnel, prior to the end of the game I immediately thought it was an injury. But I guess the Twins are in a lower gear then we are, because all Castillo was suffering from was heat exhaustion.

Before leaving with heat exhaustion, Luis Castillo had four hits in Sunday night's win over the Cubs.

After beginning his Mets career 4-for-20, Castillo managed three singles and a double, scoring twice to help back Tom Glavine in his 300th career win. Jose Reyes and Lastings Milledge also came up with three hits each for the Mets, who had a total of 16. Ruben Gotay replaced him late in the game, but Castillo figures to be fine. source Rotoworld
