Wright Wants 30/30 Season

Ben Shipgel at The New York Times rites about David Wright and how he's on pace for a 30/30 season:

Over the next six weeks, Wright, who stole 20 bases in 2006, expects to steal 5 more to reach 30. With a powerful finish, Wright can become the first Met to have 30 homers and 30 stolen bases in a season since Howard Johnson in 1991.

“To me, that would be the ultimate honor because it shows that you’re above average in different areas,” Wright said. “You’re not just a speed guy. You’re not just a power guy. You’re both.”
