Game Recap:: Mets 5 -- Braves 1

It's about time...

Mike Pelfrey pitched great and picked up his first win on the season, guiding the Mets to a 5-1 win over the Atlanta Braves.

Pelf pitched 6 amazing inning, only allowing one hit and one earned run. He walked just 3 and struck out 7 batters while on the bump. 5 of the first 6 outs were on groundballs from Pelfrey.

...easily his best start of the season...
...he was absolutely dominant on the mound, and looked calm and relaxed...

Guillermo Mota pitched the 7th inning, only allowing one hit and striking out one batter.

...you can never tell if he's going to get shelled or be lights out...but it's always one or the other...

Pedro Feliciano pitched 2 innings of no hit ball, picking up the save. Feliciano ended the game with 5 straight strikeouts, the first 3 of those were all looking.

...it looks like Feliciano is back on track!!...

Carlos Delgado went 1-3 today, smacking a solo home run to right field in the 5th. He picked up 2 RBI's in all, and scored once.

...turning it on?...i think so...

Lastings Milledge also hit a solo shot to right field in the same inning as Delgy's home run. That hit accounted for his RBI and his run scored.

Carlos Beltran had the biggest day, just missing out on the cycle by the easiet hit, the single. Beltran went 3-4, scoring 3 runs and driving in one RBI. Carlos double, tripled, and hit a solo home run today.

...wow...
...he is catching fireeeeeeee...
