Wednesday's Awards: Wright MVP

Joel Sherman at The New York Post writes about the Awards that would be given out if the season ended today:

NL MVP
1. David Wright, Mets.
2. Prince Fielder, Brewers.
3. Jimmy Rollins, Phillies.

The only two Mets to have ever reached a .300 average, .400 on-base percentage and .500 slugging percentage in a season in which they qualified for the batting title were John Olerud in 1998 and Edgardo Alfonzo in 2000. Wright is about to become the third, and add 30-plus steals, as well.
