NL third baseman of the year

David Wright has been selected the Sporting News NL third baseman of the year. Overshadowed by the teams collapse is the offense year that Wright compiled in 2007. He is the the third player in Mets history to hit 30 homeruns and steal 30 bases. Wright also maintained an above .300 BA for the year, drove in over 100 RBIs, scored 100 runs and hit over 40 doubles. Those numbers are extremely rare demonstrating a balance of power, speed and consistency.
