Willie Is The Captian

Adam Rubin at Surfing the Mets writes about David Wright’s opinion on who he feels the captain of the Mets is:

Don’t look for David Wright to be named captain of the Mets anytime soon. Despite constant chatter about it by the fan base the past few years, Wright said the topic of naming a captain hasn’t even come up in the clubhouse. Wright also suggested Willie Randolph is, in essence, the captain.

“Willie does a good job of providing that role,” Wright said. “I think that it’s Willie’s team. As far as having a captain, a lot of it is just kind of for show”
Way to put that talk to bed fast Wright. I mean you can’t look at him and say are you kidding? Come on Wright, you know you should be the captain without incriminating Willie.
