Giving Thanks Where Thanks Are Due

Shea Nation would like to thank the overwhelming support we received from our readers and fellow Met bloggers in the wake of past events. Your support has not gone unnoticed and we are forever in your debt in finding discrepancies like this.

To the many bloggers that showed their support by E-mailing us and offering advice, we would like to extend an invite to help monitor any and all sites that don’t give credit for articles or rants and any blatant rips of any kind and help in reporting them to the original site. We, here, at Shea Nation, will be making a point of informing any of you who are falling victim to what happened twice to us in the past year alone if we either see it ourselves or hear about it from our amazing readers.

To the enormous amount of readers who showed us their support, we thank you for your loyalty and promise to keep informing you about all things Mets for a long time to come. We are all one Mets' family, from blog to blog and from reader to reader, and we show it, every day, when the chips are down!

With deepest gratitude to all,

David Rubin

Network Member Shutting Down

From Bleed Orange And Blue:

After a lot of thinking, I have decided to stop this blog.

I have been very busy lately and with the Mets making me wonder why I am even a Met fan (ok, thats a little too exaggerated) I don't really want to keep up with this blog.

I am going to keep it open for 2 or 3 more days where in this time you can respond to this blog and say if you want to become the head of the site. That means you obviously still post, but also have all the editing rights of the website. If any of you decide to do this I will tell you about all that.

email me at tommygmets86@yahoo.com for anything.

Thanks to all of you who have been loyal to this site since day 1.

I may start up a new blog sometime but for now my Mets blogging days are over.

PS: I WILL CONTINUE TO WRITE OCCASIONLY FOR SHEA NATION

Tommy at Bleed Orange And Blue has started a Mets Forum and has asked Shea Nation to join in as site administrator.

New Site Name

As most of you know, Shea Nation and Mets Trades, Tirades and GM Grades are going to be joining up sites and going under a .com name in a week. We have had a poll up on both sites since Monday to decide on the unified site name (sheanation.com is already taken) and there have been an overwhelming amount of votes. David, Jonathan and I thank each an every one of you who voted and hope that you will not be disappointed with the unified site.

Here are the official results from the voting:

Mets Nation – 77 votes
The Mets Bullpen – 65 votes
The Hot Corner – 41 votes
Mets Fan Network – 36 votes
Shea Tirades – 34 votes
Roosevelt Avenue – 28 votes

Total votes - 281

So by majority vote the new site name will be Mets Nation.

Site Name And URL Change

In about two weeks Shea Nation and Mets Trades, Tirades and GM Grades will be joining sites and going under one unified name. Also there will be no Blogspot at the end of the site name. This will end the Shea Nation and Mets Trades, Tirades and GM Grades names. The new name will be determined by you, the readers.

The Member of the Shea Nation Network sites will still be here, but will be going under the new Network. Just about the only two things that will change are the unification of both sites and the URL change.

Make sure you book mark the date change because it happens on Friday, July 20th.

Thanks for all of your support over the past year and a half. David, Jonathan and I greatly appreciate all the reader feedback and fan participation.

John Young

If you have any thoughts on a site name that isn't listed in the poll, let us know in the comment section.

It's True- We Passed The MLB Test!!!

Folks: Thanks to your support, we're now an MLB Affiliate!!!

What does that mean to you, our loyal readers?

Well, for starters, it means that we're going to be here reporting the news and views about our beloved Mets for a long, long time to come!

It also means that if you want to buy any Mets-related items, from hats to memorabilia, you can click on the link at the top right of the page (MLB.COM) and it will take you right to the Mets shopping page!

Finally, it means that we can expand our reach, as we'll have expanded coverage, more features, more writers and an even better-looking site!!!

This didn't happen over-night- in fact, it has been in the works for nearly a year. Thanks to the hard work and preserverance of our webmaster, John Young, we've realized our dream today...although our real dream happened over a year ago when we began our respective sites. A big round of applause to John, for making this happen, and a BIG THANK YOU to you, our loyal readers, who number in the many thousands, for sticking with this Los Angeles- based Mets fan, a Florida-based fanatic, and our former Marine host! We promise -

...the best is yet to come - for our sites (Shea Nation and Mets Trades), and more importantly, for the METS!!!!

As we coined the term last January, "In Omar We Trust!!!" Now, we can add "In MLB We Trust!"

Looking For Contributors

Do you love the Mets?
Do you enjoy talking about the Mets?
Do you want to write on a blog, but don’t want to create one of your own?

If you said yes to all three of these questions and are interested in contributing on Shea Nation, contact John Young through the “E-Mail Shea Nation” link on the left side bar.

John will get back to you as soon as he can.

Currently there are eight other writers (6 of whom have their own sites to focus on) who post on sporadic intervals, mainly whenever they get a chance.

What John is looking for is a few people to help alleviate the pressure off of him. So if you are interested in contributing, don’t be shy, just contact John and he’ll let you take a crack at writing about the Mets, here on Shea Nation.
