Floyd draws interest from several teams

Mark Hale at The NY Post, writes about Cliff Floyd and the interest that is coming his way from numerous teams:

Free agent Cliff Floyd told the Post yesterday that several teams have called regarding his services, including Baltimore, Seattle, Cleveland and Oakland, though the clubs are awaiting a medical update on Floyd, who had offseason surgery on his left Achilles'.

Floyd, though, said yesterday, "I know somebody's going to be happy because I'm going to be healthy." He also said the Cubs would be his top choice.

Floyd had no animosity toward the Mets, but admitted that not being re-signed had provided an incentive.

I liked Floyd. He's a good ballplayer and can be a fine hitter. Unfortunately he has been injury prone. I hope he stays healthy and can help another team. The mets made the right decision in not re-signing Cliff and getting Alou. They deparately needed a solid right hand batter.
