The Bullpen
Anthoney De Rosa at Mets Blog, writes about the Mets Bullpen and what the roles seem to be right now:
Entering the season, there was some concern with the absence of Duaner Sanchez and Guillermo Mota whether the Mets would be able to enjoy the level of success in the bullpen they had last year. It appears, at least early on, that the Mets have found a stabilizing force in the form of Joe Smith and Scott Schoenewies.
Joe Smith has been trusted to come into games from the sixth inning on and has yet to allow an earned run to score. Schoenewies, has been solid as well, putting together 5 scoreless innings so far. In total, the Mets pen has only surrendered seven runs in 34 2/3 innings, including a current string of 12 2/3 straight shutout innings.
