Pelfrey To Debut Friday
Guy Curtright at Mets.com, writes about Mike Pelfrey and his Season Debut on Friday:
With three early off-days, the Mets left the 6-foot-7 right-hander in Florida, and the ninth overall pick in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft pitched six innings on Saturday night for Class A Port St. Lucie against Vero Beach.
"I'm looking forward to getting him up here," Mets manager Willie Randolph said on Sunday.
Pelfrey, 23, allowed two earned runs on five hits, including a homer, in the Florida State League outing, walking three and striking out two. He threw two wild pitches.
"I'm not really concerned about the numbers," Randolph said.
