They Would and Should

Rick Raimondi at The Star Ledger, writes about Jose Reyes and what Mets manager Willie Randolph thinks teams are going to start doing agenst him:

Willie Randolph has developed a go-to answer early this season when asked by reporters about Mets shortstop Jose Reyes.

On whether or not teams are going to start pitching out to stop the speedster from stealing 100 bases this year, the manager said, "They should."

On whether or not teams are going to start intentionally walking the Mets' leadoff hitter, Randolph replied, "I would."

His answers represent an evolution in Reyes from last season - the Amazin' Met is becoming almost as dangerous at the plate as he is on the basepaths.
