Today's Pitching Match Up

At Mets.com, they write about today's starters, when the (13-6) Mets take on the (8-13) Rockies at Shea Stadium at 1:10PM. The Mets go for the sweep today:

Mike Pelfrey (0-1, 5.06ERA)

Pelfrey was knocked around early in Friday's loss to the Braves and never really recovered. A first-inning homer by Chipper Jones thrust the rookie into an early hole, while wildness late ensured that he wouldn't last more than five innings. Pelfrey is now 0-1 on the year, and he's looking to secure his first win of the season against the Rockies, a team he's yet to face in his career.

Josh Fogg (0-1, 6.61)

Fogg didn't survive the fourth inning in his start against the Padres at home on Friday, leaving after three innings and four batters with seven earned runs on his line, nearly doubling his ERA. He pitched behind in the count throughout the outing, and none of his pitches were consistently effective for him. The 11 hits and three walks he allowed conspired to give him the most runs allowed by a Rockies starter this season.
