Tonight's pitching Preview

Tonight at 7:10PM the (12-6) Mets take on the (8-12) Rockies at Shea Stadium. Here's a look at tonight's starters:

Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez (2-1, 3.24ERA)

Hernandez allowed just five runners -- three hits and two walks -- in seven innings in his last start against the Marlins. He allowed two runs in the first inning, one earned, but was helped by a relentless offense that eventually helped the Mets prevail, 11-3. Significantly, Hernandez also struck out 10, his highest total in nearly three years. He's now 2-1 this season with a 3.24 ERA.

Aaron Cook (0-1, 4.00ERA)

The Rockies had a chance to complete a two-game sweep of the Dodgers on Thursday, but Cook struggled, walking four and giving up five runs (three earned) on six hits. Cook has struggled with the Dodgers, but he has pitched well against the Mets at Shea Stadium, going 1-0 with a 3.50 ERA in four appearances.
