Game Recap:: Mets 5 -- Phillies 2 (Game 2)

The Maine Man!!!

Just 8 absolutely amazing innings from John Maine. Just read his line...
8 innings, 4 hits, 1 earned run, (2 runs total), 0 walks, and 6 k's.

...wow...he was overpowering, smooth, deceiving...wow...

The Mets beat the Phillies by a score of 5-2 in the second game of the double header. The Mets got big blasts from Carlos Beltran (TWICE!) and Damion Easley, and big outs from John Maine.

Billy Wagner finished out the game, allowing an inherited runner to score. He allowed a hit and a walk, but struck out Aaron Rowand and Pat Burrell to end the game.

...he faced his arch enemy, who was the tying run, and got him swinging to end the game...beautiful...

Carlos Beltran knocked TWO DINGERS, both from the right side of the plate to left field!!

...big day for Los Carloses!!...

Damion Easley also went deep, knocking a 2-run blast to straight away center field in the top of the 7th, scoring David Wright.

...well done Mr. Easley...well done...

Jose Reyes went 2-4 tonight, and also picked up 2 walks. Reyes also struck out on two awful pitches tonight.

...he looked so good, and then so bad...

Paul Lo Duca picked up a double in tonights game, and Shawn Green and Carlos Gomez each picked up hits as well.

...the offense is starting to click!!!...

Game Ball:: John Maine and Carlos Beltran!

I want to hear what you guys and girls thought of how well the Mets pitched against the big guns like Rollins, Utley, and Howard!!!
