Lo Duca On Losses

David Lennon at Newsday, writes about Paul Lo Duca and his views on the losing slump:

As irritated as Lo Duca was with that interrogation, he was only warming up. But the Mets catcher directed the anger mostly at his own play, and especially his drop-off at the plate.

Lo Duca is not one to shy away from taking the blame, whether it's calling the wrong pitch or leaving men on base. And with the Mets struggling to score lately, his two wasted chances Monday really gnawed at him.

"We're just not getting it done," Lo Duca said. "I'm at the top of the list. I've been horrible with guys in scoring position. Horrible. There's no excuse for that. I'm not putting good swings on balls with guys on base. We're not getting big hits when we need to and I'm right at the top of the list."
