Beltran Considering DL Time, We Need Milledge

From Bleed Orange And Blue
Carlos Beltran is once again considering time on the DL with his abdominal strain that hurts him when he coughs and sneezes (that's not a joke he really said that). Manager Willie Randolph said there is a chance that Beltran will go on the 15 day DL. I think this proves that we need to make a trade deadline acquisition of a corner outfielder, but we can not mortgage the future just to acquire a 35 year old outfielder.

If we are going to make a big move, I will be ok with giving up Heilman and Pelfrey, but certainly not Milledge. Milledge has came up to play with this team and seems like he really learned his lesson about being stupid. He tries as hard as he can every game and is coming up in the clutch almost every game. I was not angry at all when he got thrown out the other day trying to stretch a single into a double. It shows that he is really putting his heart into what he is doing and wants to show a Lasting imprssion to the New York Mets fans and organization not as a thug who doesn't care but as a player who gives 110% every game.
