Vargas Gets The Call...Again

David Lennon at Newsday, writes about Oliver Perez on the DL and Jason Vargas taking his place:

Perez was scratched from Sunday's start in Philadelphia because of a stiff lower back, but the Mets still considered using him at some point this week. In the long run, however, it made more sense to put him on the DL and recall Jason Vargas from Triple-A New Orleans for tonight's start. The move is retroactive to June 26, the day after Perez's last start, and the Mets expect him to be as good as new when the season resumes on July 12.
